Sports Consultant (Contract - 1 Year)

Your Profile
- Creating a positive on boarding experience for new clients and taking the events live.
- Cultivating solid relationships with clients through the provision of exceptional after-sales service.
- Liaising with different departments about client queries.
- Ability to fill in Tender/ RFP submissions within assigned timelines.
- Regularly interact with clients through telephone, email, or face-to-face meetings.
- Responding to client inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Understand the basics of the sports ecosystem in India - the top 5 leagues as well as the top 10-20 mid-tier leagues across all sports. How they are structured and operated
- Knowledge of sports success metrics in ticketing - time of year, city, tickets sold, capacity of venue, customer targeting, customer service
- Communication skills need to be effective in English and bonus would be Hindi and English to handle client servicing of clients
- Work closely with cross functional teams (event team, marketing, product, operations team) in BMS and it’s affiliates to deliver on project timelines.
- Ideate and curate content led campaigns to fulfil the client’s objectives by combining elements from BookMyShow’s ecosystem- event IP, digital assets, curated content
- Propensity to do due diligence and primary research on the following:

- The most popular sports played in the 10 most popular cities (by ticketing purchases)
- Impact of each sports league in that city and which one does best. This will help understand which sports is popular in that city
- The different sports activities available in the city with existing venue, facilities, operating staff and ticketing history
- The sports activities that have facilities but no ability to take care of ticketing and would need our assistance
- These sports could be easily missed as they might be listed as activities on other platforms. Examples are Water rafting, go karting, turf bookings, dirt bikes. We need to identify these companies and understand what they are offering that are unique and more importantly what we can add.
- Do the following research on BMS product and sports offerings:
- Understand the BMS sports page flow and the top type of events listed
- How can the user experience be improved with simple product changes with quick TAT (should be able to rationalise these changes with data)
- Analysis of what events are selling on a regular basis apart from top leagues
- Pricing strategy changes over the years and how that has affected sales
- Working with the client and organisers to manage inventory and sales expectations
- Develop effective marketing campaigns depending on time of the year to promote sports events that are selling well. See the types of consumers buying the tickets and promote to all the necessary databases
- Explore new opportunities / partnerships / platforms / affiliations to increase visibility for client campaigns
- Ability to discuss and effectively pitch all BMS services including pricing & ticketing strategy, DIY software, access control solutions, marketing
- Proficient in deck & pitch preparation for new prospective clients as well as budgeting to manage P&L statements before events
