BookMyShow (BMS) is India's biggest entertainment company. We help users get access to movies and entertainment and have millions of users visiting us every day. We are looking for a talented and driven senior UX/UI candidate to join us and shape how our users experience BMS at every touchpoint.

As a senior UXD candidate, you will own how the entire BMS app interacts with customers, from discovery and booking to notifications, payments, post-booking communication and support. You will understand where users get stuck, confused or frustrated, and prioritise fixing the problems. You will show a high degree of ownership in making every interaction clear and consistent, working closely with research, technology and PM teams to roll out improvements across the app. You will interact with PMs regularly, plan and deliver on business goals, and we will value your ability to think big about customer/user experience while staying focused on steady execution. You will need to stay abreast of the latest trends in technology and UI in order to add delight and character to the experience.

You should

  • have 10+ years of overall experience preferably, including 5+ years on consumer-facing apps.
  • leverage both primary and secondary research as much as possible in the process.
  • be customer obsessed; you should be constantly looking for friction in the user journey and fixing it at the root with superlative UXD.
  • have a strong eye for interaction design, information hierarchy and microcopy, and be comfortable working hands-on with other designers in Figma.
  • have great communication skills; you should be able to explain an experience problem crisply to any stakeholder and drive it to closure.
  • hold a degree in graphic design/communication design from a reputed institute.

A typical UX person’s day within BMS looks like the below

  • plan the experience strategy and roadmap for how the app communicates with and guides users
  • define and track key UX/UI metrics
  • audit user journeys end to end, including empty states, error states, nudges, notifications, micro interactions, haptics and in-app messaging.
  • benchmark the experience against competitors and best-in-class consumer apps.
  • run user research, usability tests and experiments to validate changes
